He has an MS in Orthopedics from Gujarat University and scored top marks in his class, for which the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujartat awarded him the Dinubhai A. Patel Gold Medal.
Dr. Urvil Shah has received further training and has specialised in managing alll the conditions pertaining to knee and shoulder with Dr.Amyn Rajani at Breach Candy Hospital Mumbai. Dr. Urvil then went to Dr.John Cannizzaro at Upstate Bone and Joint Centre, New York, USA to learn and observe the recent advances in the filed of sports medicine.
